Nick Vera Perez: Inspired by a mother’s unwavering love
For OPM singer Nick Vera Perez, each day is a celebration of the remarkable woman who shaped his life. His mother’s unwavering love and selfless sacrifices inspire him to dream big, persevere through life’s challenges, and never lose sight of the importance of family.
“Each day, my mother gently encourages me: ‘Don’t worry about me—I’ve had my time. Focus on your life and happiness, because you deserve it too.’ Her strength and wisdom guide me, and though I remain open to love, my greatest joy is being there for her.”
Nick, who is also a registered nurse in the US, revealed he had three exes. "But I don't usually discuss them in public." He also said he’s not closing the door on another relationship.
The good-looking singer refused to say whether his former girlfriends were connected with show business.
Nick shares that what matters most to him now is finding someone who values and respects his devotion to his mother. “My love for my parents runs deep, and I hope to meet someone who embraces that same commitment to family,” he says, believing that true love honors our roots.

He recalled one moment about his mother that truly impressed him. “I was in Grade 6 or my first year of high school when I became seriously ill. My mother, with only 500 pesos to her name, moved mountains to make sure I would be well.
"My father was working hard overseas in Taiwan and couldn’t send money yet, so my mother carried the full weight of our struggles on her own shoulders.
"With that meager amount, she gave up everything for me—making sure I received the medicine I needed, even when it meant she had nothing left for herself.
"Witnessing her sacrifice brought me to tears. From that moment, I made a vow: one day, I would give back all the love and care she had given me, and make sure her sacrifices were never unrecognized.
“Whatever my mother wishes for, I will provide—sometimes even before she asks. Our bond is unbreakable, and every day I strive to show her how much she means to me,” Nick shares, his words echoing a heart full of gratitude and love.
Now, as his mother approaches her 79th birthday this September, Nick dreams of returning to Manila in 2027 to celebrate her 80th—hoping to fill her days with the happiness and gratitude she truly deserves.
On Sunday, May 17, Nick will hold a post-Mother's Day show at The Atrium at 4 p.m. Evelyn Francia, Hannah Shayne, and the G3 Dancers will join him in the special show. It will be hosted by Miz D.
The special show will also celebrate his latest albums titled "Unafraid" and "Dancing in the Ocean."
