Katrina Llegado breaks 13-year Miss Supranational drought for PH

 


Miss Philippines Katrina Llegado was crowned Miss Supranational 2026 during the 17th edition of the pageant held in Poland on July 31 (August 1, Manila time), ending a 13-year drought for the country in the prestigious competition.
Katrina, 28, of Taguig City, bested 66 other international candidates for the crown. This marked the second time the Philippines captured the crown in the pageant's history. She succeeded Eduarda Braum of Brazil.



The first Miss Supranational titleholder from the Philippines was Mutya Johanna Datul, who won in Minsk, Belarus, in 2013. She was also the first Asian to win the crown.
During the final Q&A, Katrina was asked, “Please tell us the moment you stopped trying to become the woman the world expected and started becoming the woman you’re really meant to be.”
Katrina answered, “I always believe that we should never fit into a mold. We are perfectly imperfect. I am someone who struggles with perfection, but I’m here today doing my best and becoming the best version (of myself). And here in Miss Supranational, I know there is a place for me, and this is becoming Supra above and beyond."


Other winners: Eve Gilles, France, 1st runner-up; Lara Marina, Brazil, 2nd runner-up; Ndah Eno, Nigeria, 3rd runner-up; and Karolina Gorylova, Czech Republic, 4th runner-up.
Other candidates who finished in the Top 24 were delegates from India, Indonesia, Poland, Spain, Tanzania, Venezuela, Vietnam, Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Iceland, Jamaica, Japan, Macau, Namibia, Thailand, Turkey, United States, and Zimbabwe.



Before Miss Supranational, Katrina competed in Miss Universe Philippines twice: in 2022 and 2025. She studied financial management at De La Salle University on Taft Avenue in Manila, where she graduated cum laude in 2018.

Filipino-American actor Matt Evans has said that he appreciates his mother and his family more these days with the help of his afternoon teleserye "The Greatest Love" aired weekdays on ABS-CBN.
