Mr. Universe Philippines 2026 unveils official candidates

 


The Mr. Universe Philippines 2026 pageant kicked off with the presentation of the 29 official candidates at Events Place Manila on July 30.
This year's official candidates are Raven David Duenas, Angeles City; Ramssel Presores, Antipolo City; Justine Aguilar Concensino, Bulacan; John Anderson Alfaro, Cagayan De Oro City; Ryan Justine Raynes, Cagayan Valley; Mervin Lacanaria, Caloocan City; Shawn Maxwell McElligott, Calumpit, Bulacan; Dhavid Notorio, Cavite; Kyle Nielson Cruz, City of Malabon; and Jessie James Tan, Davao City.
Lester Dennis Cabusas, Davao Occidental; Joe Marzon Dunuan, Ifugao; Nike Rostok Bello, Ilocos Sur; Jastine Dalampasig, Isabela; Steven Miguel Gabatin, Laguna; Chamroen Lei Lopez, Mabalacat, Pampanga; JD Gaviola, Manila; Edmon Emoya Arante, Negros Occidental; Mark Clem Alpapara, Negros Oriental; and Lordie Mendoza, Nueva Ecija.

Before the end of the show, Presores (Antipolo) and McElligott (Calumpit, Bulacan) won the Darling of the Press Special Award, voted on by the attending media members.

Gareth Blanco, National Director of Mr. Universe Philippines, shared that he received the national franchise for the pageant from the Mr. Universe Organization in India last May. This year marks the first time the Philippines will host the competition, even though the international event began four years ago.
“We’re searching for a true standout—someone with heart, charisma, and a passion for uplifting Filipino values on the global stage. Here’s hoping the judges crown a deserving champion,” Blanco declared.
The grand coronation of Mr. Universe Philippines 2026 will be held at Viva Cafe in Araneta City on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026.
There will be four winners: Mr. Universe Philippines, Mr. Teen Universe Philippines, Mr. Maharlika (1st runner-up), and Mr. Pearl of the Orient (2nd runner-up).
Blanco shared words of encouragement for the future titleholders representing the country on the international stage: “Carry our Filipino pride wherever you go. Stand tall, show your strength, and let the world see your values and resilience.”
The global Mr. Universe 2026 competition is set for August in India, with the organization championing advocacy against gender-based violence, a drug-free lifestyle, and greater mental health awareness.

Filipino-American actor Matt Evans has said that he appreciates his mother and his family more these days with the help of his afternoon teleserye "The Greatest Love" aired weekdays on ABS-CBN.
