Wendell Oliver Pamfilo: Chasing dreams and inspiring youth at Mister World Philippines 2026

Cornerstone artist Wendell Oliver Pamfilo of Nueva Ecija is gearing up to represent his province at the highly anticipated Mister World Philippines competition later this year.

With his sights set on the national stage, Wendell hopes to do more than just win a title—he wants to inspire others to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams.

“Mister World Philippines is a great opportunity to step onto this new platform. I also want to inspire others and never stop dreaming,” Wendell shared during a recent media conference at Heavenly Desserts in Quezon City.

His entry into the world of pageantry is driven by a desire to make a difference and serve as a role model for the youth.

Born and raised in Chicago, USA, Wendell’s passion for growth has always been evident. “I want to try new things. I started in the entertainment world in 2017. I also play basketball,” he said.

His diverse interests reflect a commitment to personal development and a willingness to step out of his comfort zone.

One of Wendell’s core advocacies is youth empowerment through sports and meaningful activities. “I believe the youth need more activities. I see many kids on streams now. I think it's important for kids to have more activities,” he said, expressing concern about the shift towards passive forms of entertainment among young people.

For Wendell, 27, pageantry is more than just a competition—it’s a platform to amplify his message and advocate for positive change.

“Pageantry is more than just a competition. It's about voicing yourself and showing that you can also help and inspire everyone,” the 5'11" tall model emphasized.

Interestingly, Wendell’s journey into pageantry was sparked by friends' encouragement. “I wasn't interested before because I wanted sports and acting. Now I think Mr. World Philippines is a wonderful opportunity,” he revealed.

While sports and acting remain close to his heart, he now sees pageantry as a fulfilling avenue to expand his horizons.

Looking ahead, Wendell has ambitious goals beyond the pageant. He aspires to own a business someday, continue living in the Philippines, and further his career in acting and modeling.

“My roots are in Baguio City. It's a beautiful place. Every time I go back to the Philippines, it feels like home. The hospitality is so nice. That's why I am proud to be a Filipino,” Wendell said, expressing pride in his heritage and the deep connection he feels to the country.

When it comes to his dreams in the entertainment industry, Wendell hopes to work with prominent actresses like Ivana Alawi and Kathryn Bernardo. He humorously added that he is currently single, focusing on his career and personal growth.

As with many public figures, Wendell has not been immune to criticism and online bashing. He approaches negativity with resilience and empathy, drawing from his experience working in sales in the US.

“Bashing is a significant issue in the Philippines. I guess, for me, as someone with a background in sales in the US, I also get that a lot. Some customers are rude. Not everyone is nice,” he shared.

His advice for dealing with negativity is simple yet profound: “Some people are not having the best days. You just have to be positive because you don't know what the person is going through. So I don't want to match their energy and bash them.”

With his positive outlook, advocacy for youth, and determination to make a mark, Wendell’s journey in Mister World Philippines is one to watch.

As he steps onto the pageant stage, he carries with him not just the hopes of Nueva Ecija but also a message of hope, resilience, and the power of dreams.
