Shakira and Burna Boy drop 'Dai Dai' the FIFA World Cup 2026™ official song linked with FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund

Shakira will co-headline the halftime show at the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final on July 19, alongside Madonna and BTS. In an unprecedented move in FIFA World Cup™ history, this final will feature a halftime show uniting global artists to celebrate the connections among sport, culture, and purpose, all while supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

As revealed at the Global Citizen NOW event in New York, "Dai Dai" has been chosen as the official anthem for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The goal is to raise $100 million by the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, ensuring access to quality education and sports for children around the globe. Shakira is collaborating with Global Citizen and FIFA, pledging her royalties from "Dai Dai" to the Education Fund. Additionally, Sony Music has committed to matching the first $250,000 raised. Shakira will also donate $1 from every ticket sold for her upcoming "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" tour to the Education Fund.

Burna Boy expressed, “The World Cup is one of the few things the entire world experiences together. Football and music speak the same language. They bring people together no matter where you’re from, and being part of this moment through music means a lot to me.”

This summer, Shakira will embark on a limited U.S. tour for her record-breaking "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour," offering fans an intimate experience in smaller arenas. Tickets can be purchased at shakira.com. In October, she will headline an 11-night stadium residency in Madrid, featuring a specially constructed venue named 'Shakira Stadium,' which has already sold over half a million tickets.

In early May, Shakira mesmerized over 2 million attendees at the Todo Mundo No Rio concert at Copacabana Beach in Brazil, where her international touring career began. She interacted with the audience in Portuguese and delivered an energetic setlist of her greatest hits, including “Hips Don’t Lie,” “La Tortura,” and “La Bicicleta.” The concert also featured special guests who joined her for the debut of their new single, “Choka Choka,” and for performances of iconic songs.

Often referred to as “the largest concert in the world,” Todo Mundo No Rio is a landmark event for Rio de Janeiro, celebrating music, culture, and community free of charge. The event broke attendance records, becoming one of the highest-attended concerts ever, and positively impacted the local economy, generating an estimated $800 million in revenue, including a 123 percent rise in travel bookings.

Recently, Shakira collaborated with Zara Larsson on the track “Eurosummer,” which is featured on the deluxe edition of Larsson's album Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.

This year, Billboard recognized Shakira for having the “highest-grossing Hispanic tour of all time” with her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, generating $421.6 million through 82 stadium shows across the U.S. and Latin America, attracting over 3.3 million attendees.

For Burna Boy, this collaboration represents a significant moment in a career that merges music, sport, and culture on a global scale. As one of the most influential African artists of his time, he has become synonymous with stadium performances and the international rise of African music. His recent endeavors include headlining major arenas, performing at the NBA All-Star Game, and forming significant partnerships that bridge music and sport. Burna Boy is currently on an extensive international tour, solidifying his status as a leading performer and cultural voice worldwide.
