16 new stars, one big dream: Star Worx debuts on TV5
The Philippine entertainment scene ushers in a dynamic new chapter as TV5 spotlights talent and transformation through Star Worx, its flagship talent management division.
Previously known as MediaQuest Artist Agency, the newly rebranded Star Worx marks a bold and glamorous evolution for TV5's commitment to cultivating homegrown talent.
At the helm is Johnny Manahan, the renowned 'Star Maker' known as Mr. M. With his legendary Midas touch and a keen eye for talent, Mr. M is poised to redefine the Filipino superstar for a new generation.
The talent builder led the launch of Star Worx, introducing a vibrant roster of new faces at the Kapatid Network headquarters in Mandaluyong City.
Among the new generation of male stars introduced at the event were Adam Buck, Amo Wilding, Chan Martin, Nico Matugas, Patrick Ballesteros, Spencer Capistrano, and Wayne Leonard.
The rising female artists included Carmela Lorzano, Celyn David, Kaitlyn King, Keisha Swerna, Marthena Jickain, Nathalie Apollo, Rahil Gatali, Selina Griffin, and Steph Razon.
Mr. M shared his thoughts on what motivates him to continue thriving in the entertainment industry.
"It’s the youth—that’s what keeps me inspired. That’s entertainment. There’s nothing quite like show business," Mr. M remarked. "They’re all so beautiful and good-looking."
Mr. M continued, "My background was really in political science, architecture, and art history. I just happened to fall into showbiz. Some of you may know that my mother was part of the industry.
"After college, I entered showbiz, though I didn’t really know what to do. So I started by watching her talk show first.
"She hosted a talk show. Then I visited the studio, spoke with a director, and asked if I could observe. The director agreed.
"I rotated through all kinds of shows—comedy, drama. I met legends like Dolphy and Mang Nano, and worked with many directors.
"Then I thought to myself, ‘I can do what they do. Not just that—I enjoyed being there.’ But it wasn’t easy, working from 9 a.m. to midnight, moving from show to show," he added.
The Arrival of the 'Star Worx 16'
The launch was more than a rebranding; it heralded the debut of 16 extraordinary young talents, all poised to ignite the airwaves.
This inaugural group of Star Worx artists embodies the cutting edge of modern entertainment. Since January 2026, these rising stars have undergone a rigorous, high-stakes 'bootcamp of brilliance.'
From intense choreography and vocal training to nuanced acting workshops and honing their Filipino fluency, these 16 artists have been shaped into polished gems.
"We weren’t just searching for performers—we’re cultivating icons," says Mr. M. "These 16 artists have the discipline, heart, and that indefinable 'X-factor' the Filipino audience deserves."
Redefining the Limelight
The May 5 launch dazzled with glitz and excitement, featuring a high-energy showcase where these artists demonstrated why they are the industry's future.
Audiences were treated to show-stopping vocal performances, electrifying dance routines, and a preview of the cinematic presence set to energize TV5’s primetime lineup.
