For the first time in 68 years, the Miss Universe beauty pageant would be held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia on Dec. 8 (Dec. 9 Manila time). This was announced by the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) on its official website on Oct. 31 (Nov. 1 Manila time). It also released its official teaser for the pageant. “Atlanta has been the stage to some of the word’s most-watched events in modern history, and we are excited to show the one billion annual viewers of MISS UNIVERSE® the rich culture of this city," the MUO said in its official statement.  Atlanta was also the site of the Summer Olympics in 1996.
